A little about ingrown toenails
At Pittle Podiatry, we've been caring for El Paso's feet since 1972: Father to son, generation to generation. And if there's one thing we see week in and week out, it's ingrown toenails. They're common, they're uncomfortable, and most of the time, a little TLC at home clears them right up.
What Causes Them
Nails cut too short, shoes that pinch, a stubbed toe, or just the natural shape of your nail. Any of these can start the irritation that leads to an ingrown toenail. Your feet must last a lifetime, so it's worth taking care of them early.
Try This First
Warm soaks a couple times a day, gently coaxing the nail edge away from the skin, and roomier shoes for a few days can often do the trick for a mild case.
When It's Time for Southern Hospitality and a Little Expert Help
If your toe is still red, swollen, draining after a few days of home care, or if it's getting worse instead of better, then it's time to come see us. We love your feet just as much as we do our own, and we won't let a stubborn nail turn into something bigger.
The good news? Our in-office treatment is quick, and most patients are back to their normal routine before long.
Doing All We Can
We're proud to offer bilingual, family-friendly care for our whole community, because taking care of your feet is taking care of your family. Schedule an appointment with Pittle Podiatry today and let us take it from here.
