A little about taking care of diabetic feet
Since 1972, the Pittle family has cared for El Paso's feet, father to son, generation to generation. One of the most important things we teach our diabetic patients? Your feet need a little daily love, because diabetes can hide small problems until they've become bigger ones.
Why This Matters
Diabetes can dull the feeling in your feet and slow down healing, so a small blister or cut might not get noticed or heal the way it should.
Your Daily Checklist
- Look your feet over every day, top and bottom, between the toes too
- Wash and dry them well
- Moisturize (skip between the toes)
- Trim nails straight across
- Check inside your shoes before putting them on
- Never go barefoot, even around the house
When to Come See Us
If a cut or sore isn't clearly healing after a day or two, don't wait, come see us. We love your feet just as much as we do our own, and we want to catch problems early, before they become something bigger.
Southern Hospitality, Serious Care
